Making a Movie

I teach design technology (among other things).

I make my students investigate topics, brainstorm ideas, storyboard different designs, plan what they are going to do when and what resources they will need, create their product, and reflect on whether they met the design specifications for the project.  Usually I am the guide on the side and not fully involved in each project.  So it was a pleasant surprise to work through this cycle myself recently as I worked with my students and other staff members to create a short video describing how we might leverage the power of mobile technology should we have the opportunity.  I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

  1. Hi Tracy,

We used a Flip Camera and tripod to shoot the scenes. My camera crew were very crafty with the angles they chose. I edited it on an iMac. The opening picture was made on PowerPoint and exported as a JPEG. I’m pleased you liked it 🙂
